How it works

Direct DSM connection. No cloud.

1

Add your NAS

Enter your NAS IP or hostname and port. No MiyaraHub account, no sign-up.

2

Sign in with DSM

Authenticate with your existing DSM credentials - sent only to your NAS, using the same mechanism as the DSM web portal.

3

Monitor & manage

Dashboards, Docker, cameras, storage, network, packages, and tasks - straight from your phone, tablet, or desktop.

Security & Privacy

Your NAS, your data, your control.

Syno Manager is designed with a privacy-first architecture. Minimal data collection, no user tracking, no cloud dependency.

No cloud relay

All communication happens directly between your device and your NAS over your local network. Nothing is routed through external servers.

Standard DSM authentication

Uses the same authentication mechanism as the DSM web interface. Your credentials are sent only to your NAS - never to us.

Minimal analytics

Firebase Crashlytics to catch bugs and improve stability - no personal data, no usage tracking, no ads. The app never collects NAS data or credentials beyond your device.

Secure local storage

Connection details are stored on-device using platform-secure storage - iOS Keychain and Android Keystore.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

How does the app connect to my NAS? +
Syno Manager uses the documented Synology DSM API endpoints to communicate with your NAS over your local network. The app sends requests directly to your NAS - there are no intermediary servers, proxies, or cloud relays involved. You provide the NAS IP/hostname and port, authenticate with your DSM credentials, and the app communicates directly with DSM.
What permissions does the app need on my NAS? +
The app operates within whatever permissions your DSM user account has. For full dashboard functionality, an administrator account is recommended. However, the app will gracefully degrade - if your account doesn't have Docker permissions, the Docker section simply won't show data. Same for Surveillance Station, shared folders, etc. No special DSM packages need to be installed.
Does the app store my NAS credentials? +
Connection details are stored locally on your device using platform-secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). Credentials are never transmitted to MiyaraHub Technologies or any third party. They are used exclusively to authenticate with your NAS.
Which Synology models are supported? +
Syno Manager works with any Synology NAS running DSM 7.0 or later. This includes all current DiskStation (DS), RackStation (RS), and FlashStation (FS) models. Older models running DSM 6.x may have limited functionality due to API differences.
Can I manage Docker containers remotely? +
Yes. You can view container status, CPU/memory usage, access logs, and perform stop/restart operations directly from the app. Container creation and configuration changes are not currently supported - the focus is on monitoring and quick management actions.
How much does Syno Manager cost? +
Syno Manager is a one-time purchase at $6.99. No subscription, no ads, no in-app purchases. You buy it once on the App Store or Google Play and you own it.
Can I access my NAS remotely (outside my home network)? +
Syno Manager connects to whatever IP/hostname you configure. If your NAS is accessible via VPN, Tailscale, or a forwarded port, the app will work remotely. We recommend using a VPN or Tailscale rather than exposing DSM directly to the internet.

Great, works well for me

I have this app and also one called NAS Pro. This one is by far the better app and the more stable one for me.
